First full week and already so many blessings!!

Hola my chickicos!
I felt that I should say something cool in another language but... ya know Heavenly Father knows me enough to not have me in a foreign language mission. Haha So this is my first real week as a missionary! Get ready for the mother load! Holy Cannooollly!

So first of all getting here was quite an experience! Me and 23 other Elders.  The Holmes, my mission presidents, said it was quite an overwhelming site to see that many missionaries walking towards them! So awesome! It was incredible! I felt of the spirit so strongly right when I stepped off the plane and I know that it is because this is where I am supposed to be! I am so excited for all that is to come! I got my companion the first night I was here and that is incredible! She is soo awesome! Sister Bishop is absolutely the sweetest and most in tune with the spirit girl I have ever met! Other than myself of course! haha just kidding.  I know that we are going to get along great! She is this quiet, sweet girl who seems so kind that I am afraid to say something that will mess up her... uhh perfectness? haha She is a wonderful trainer though and you can just tell people love her wherever we go!

Well, the first night we got straight out to tracting! It was incredible! It is crazy we literally got dropped off and went straight to work. I haven't even been able to unpack yet! haha I am hoping that I will be able to do that today though. Oh my goodness life is so awesome! I forgot my journal and all the things that I was going to write about so expect a little more detailed email next week.

I just have to tell you that my first week was a real success!  So people are telling me that the first week of a missionary's mission so successful because of their strong faith and excitement. I am starting to believe it! They already had four investigators that I just kind of jumped into and then through finding people, we got another eight! So amazing right! So now I honestly go home every night filled with so much happiness and enough spirit to baptism all of Michigan! Baha Jk I am out here to help others become closer to there Heavenly Father and Christ and to convert. I  can tell you that we are dong just that! Everyone seems to be progressing and that is huge! Ahhh I love this life! It honestly is the best feeling to have to spirit with you constantly! So I have to run but I love you all so dearly and I promise  will write those who have written me ASAP!

This week really couldn't have gotten better! We had amazing experiences that are true miracles and I can't wait to see how they play out!  I am really ecstatic about the work and I honestly am learning so much! I feel that through this work it is impossible not to grow closer to Christ or Heavenly Father! I am so excited for my relationship with them and how much stronger my testimony is! There is truth to the saying the more you bear it the more it grows.  I thought I would be blessing others through the spirit but in reality they are blessing me! This next week is just going to be that much better. Now that I know how the system works this week i will be unstoppable! Thank you again for all that you do!
Au Revoir!
Love you all!

I'M IN MICHIGAN!

Well I arrived two days ago safely! I can tell you this...once I stepped of the plane there was an over whelming spirit that came over me. I knew this was my mission and this is where the Lord has placed me to do his work for a reason. The most amazing part?  I have not had the spirit leave. The days have been filled with tracting and figuring out where everyone is going and placed with who.  I was lucky because since I was the only sister that came in, I was assigned a companion and area the first night I was there. So I was able to tract in my area the first night!  It has been an ongoing amazing experience that has been hard but so rewarding since I got here. I will be giving you a more of a detailed update on p-day.

I thought I prayed a lot in the MTC! Here it feels like every other two minutes we pray. Help! I am running out of things to pray about! haha I guess I will just have to start counting all my many blessings. There sure has been a lot of them these past three weeks! I was blessed with the most amzing companion ever! She is so sweet and kind to everyone and I am so excited to have her around to teach me because everyone I come across, tells me what a wonderful trainer she is. I am truly so excited to work with her! I feel like I am progressing, slowly, but at least I am progressing! Teaching the lessons comes easily to me because I have been taught these things my whole life and I know that they are true! What is hard for me is door approaches because it is hard for me to convince them of the importance and they all come up with so many incredible excusses! I will just have to learn tricky ways to tell them that they need it in their lives! I am so happy because I feel an automatic love for the people I come accross. Just one of the many ways our Heavenly Father blesses me! Thank you for you love and prayers!  Prayers work just so you know! He answers every single one of them! I love you all! Talk to you next week!

Love your MISSIONARY!

Last week in the MTC!

Heeeelllooooo! My beautiful friends and family! I love you all so much but I have very little time to write to you today! I am busy busy buys packing and finishing all the little things before I leave but I promise a better email next week. I am sure I will have a ton to talk to you about because it will have been my first week in Detroit! Woot Woot! So stoked!

I also am so sorry I haven't had anytime to write back to all of you that have written me! I promise I will write as many as I can on the plane over there! I really can't thank you all enough for all the letters and love that you have given me! They have really made this experience so much easier and the most fun! You all have been such a blessing and such a strength to me and what I am doing right now! Thanks yall!

So you know how I had that really awesome experience last week? Well I never got a chance to tell you about it and I was going to today but quite honestly, this week I have had many of them each day! I honestly feel of the spirit 24/7 and that is the best blessing of all from serving my Savior.  It's funny when ever we do something for Him or our Heavenly Father it actually a blessing to serve, and then the blessing overflow on top of that! for example the commandments are actually blessings for us and when we follow them we actually get blessed even more! If that is not a sing that our Father in Heaven loves us and wants us to have joy in our lives I don't know what is!

Haha Sorry I sound so missionary I just am so excited about the work! It actually has been so much fun so far! Well I have to run... literally! haha so I just want to thank you again for all of your prays, support and love for me. I feel the strength everyday and it really has helped me! So don't stop! haha jk! I love you all bunches of oats!!!!
Mwaaaaah!
Your missionary soon to be out of training!

Week TWO!

Since Jenessa's email was short this week, I thought I'd post a couple of the recordings she sent :)  Plus, it's really nice to hear her voice!

Hey fam and friends heeeeeyyy!
This week. Oh boy this week was insane. So lets start off with a famous "Nessa Moment." These elders asked me where the nearest place to buy bottled water was. Ya. I responded "Provo lake. It is so much fun I went boating there just last summer!" Yep... I thought they said "Where is the nearest body of water?" Bahaha I am just that awesome!
Well the days feel like they will never end.  We do so much in one day! We never have even a couple of minutes to cool off. It literally is from one thing to the next. We don't have even anytime to prepare for our lessons or even to read the scripts or write in the Journal.  So the days go so slowly even though you are always doing something. Even though they are slow the weeks fly by! I cannot believe I only have a week left! I feel like I have learned so much and I have so much to learn as well! Each day is enriched with teaching skills, doctrine, and packed full with the spirit.  We also have the amazing oppurtunity to go to the temple. I am so excited we get to go today!  So I am the only sister out of the MTC who is going to Detroit.  So it will be me and 25 elders on the plane! Yeyeah! haha  I loooove the people here! I have gotten so close to my district! I honestly feel like they are my brothers and sisters and we are one big family. They rock!
My teachers are awesome.  One loves Macklemore and we have a full on conversation about him.  It made me miss listening to my music a lot but I also had the chance to talk to him about his lyrics so that made me feel happy!  I got a little break from the mtc! and the other teacher is the sweetest kindest girl who gives the best lessons that you feel that you have never thought about before.
So I had the most amazing experiance but I have to get off so I will tell you next week!

I love you all so much! Thank you for your love and support! Mwwwah!  Tootles! Ovvvvah!

Week One!

Hello there my bestest of friends and my wonderful family! I am so grateful for all of you that could attend my Farewell! You all said such heartfelt and kind things to me that have stuck with me throughout these few days that I have been here. Hey I got through the first three but hardest days of the MTC! There is plenty to look forward to because I have been learning so much and growing so much! Thank you all for you love and prayers I have definately felt it as I have been here! It has been hard for me, I am not going to lie.  You sit in class and lessons all day trying to write down everything that you need to know and remember! They also ask us to do so much during our prepreation time when we have such little of it! I am deffinately stuggling but the spirit and happiness of everyone have kept me keeping on!  I have yet to feel sad or like I will not have the strength to do everything that I need to do.  I am so close with me companion. She is so much like me! Her name is Sister Conant but you purnounce it as cone ant.  I know I messed up her name and still do sometimes!  She is exactly like me in so many ways! Loves to be happy and excited about everything and we have actually come to the point where we start saying the same things.  It is not allowed to sing songs that are not church orriented but to help us not sing innapriatly we change the words to fit the songs.  She is deffiantely a blessing to me so I can feel more at home.  Even though she is so perfect it is still hard sometimes.  She is awesome but a little bossy.  Ugh I like to plan the lessons on what I want to talk about sometimes too! haha I love her with all my heart though.  She has taught me to pray at every chance we can or whenever I need it.  I pretty much pray once every half an hour.  Haha I am running out of things to pray for! :) Our districk is awesome! We are all best friends and the Elders are so funny! I am so excited to travel to Detriot with them! I am the only sister that had arrived on Wenesday and also the only one I have heard of that is going to Detroit! It will be so much fun! Ahhh so stoked! I love you guys!! oh that is another thing we are not allowed to say guys. Only Elders and Sisters and I am always saying let's go ladies or sup guys or even hello brethern. So tough! Baha! Anyway thanks again for everything! I love you all so much! SEND ME LETTERS! I need you GUYS in my life!

Love you so much!

The church is true!

Love,
Sister Sirstins

P.S. Sorry about all the miss spelling, there is no spell check on this computer. haha
